Meet our Staff

Janet M. Shoaf, RN, MBA, NHA – President
Jan came first to Wesley Manor in 2000 as a consultant and in April of 2001, Wesley Manor’s Board of Directors hired her as President of Wesley Manor.  

She received her Nursing Diploma from Christ Hospital School of Nursing and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University, both in Cincinnati.
Mark Stephens, BSBA – Vice President of Administration, CFO

Mark received his BSBA degree in Finance from the University of Louisville in 1987 and has been with Wesley Manor for ten years as Chief Financial Officer, following a career in banking. He will soon receive his Non-Profit Management Certification from Bellarmine University.

Deanna Young, RN, BSN, CDONA/LTC – Vice President of Nursing & Client Services

Deanna graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and later received her credentials as a Certified Director of Nursing Administration in long term care (RN, BSN, CDONA/LTC). 

Anita Kuvin, BA, CMP - Vice President of Public Relations

Anita received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing and Merchandising from Florida State University, and is one of 479 Certified Marketing Professionals (CMP’s) in long term care in the country. She has received four National Mature Media Marketing Awards for her writing and brochure design.

Mike Wideman, MSW - Director of Social Services

Originally a native of southeastern Michigan, Mike graduated from Michigan State University with his Master’s degree in Social Work in 1983.

Rev. Rebecca Church, BA, MDIV - Director of Pastoral Services

Rebecca has been Chaplain at Wesley Manor for ten years. She is an ordained Baptist minister with a BA from The University of Louisville and Master of Divinity Degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Louisville’s Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Debbie Bow, Director of Dietary Services

One of our very special long term employees, Debbie Bow came on board at Wesley Manor in July of 1984 as Assistant Dietary Director - a position she held until she was promoted to Wesley Manor’s Director of Dietary Services in 2000. In 1998, she received KAHSA’s (Kentucky Assoc. of Homes & Services for the Aging) award as “Outstanding Staff Person” in a Kentucky long term care facility.

Peggy Spaulding, Activities Director

Peggy began her career at Wesley Manor in 1978 in our Health Care Center while still a senior at nearby Southern High School. Following her high school graduation in 1979, she received her certification as a Medicine Technician and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In 2002, Peggy was honored as the very first recipient of “The Golden Shoe” Sister Carl Marie Activity Director Award by KAHSA (Kentucky Association of Homes and Services for the Aging).

Norma Henderson - Patio Home & Marketing Coordinator
With 16 years background as an Executive Assistant, Norma joined Wesley Manor in September 2001 as Marketing Assistant, a title which she held until she was promoted to her current dual role as Marketing & Patio Home Coordinator in March 2003.
Carol Ray - Administrative Assistant/Human Resources
Carol came to Wesley Manor in 1978 as Secretary to the Administrator, but her duties have been expanded to include Human Resources support as well. She receives employment applications and maintains all employee personnel and volunteer records, such as continuing education hours and insurance, evaluations, etc., in addition to resident files.
Gerry Bonsell-Admissions Coordinator, Hoskinson House & McCandless Center
Gerry returned to nursing school after her youngest child left for college, and joined Wesley Manor in 2001 as LPN Supervisor in our Frances McCandless Center, providing “Personal Care” memory support for early-mid Alzheimer’s residents.
