Meet our Staff

Jerry L. Hoganson, LNHA – President

Jerry L. Hoganson, President of Wesley Manor, is an experienced health care administrator with decades of service in a variety of settings. Born and raised in Minnesota, he received his Bachelors Degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, majoring in Hospital Administration. He also attended St. Mary’s College of Minnesota in the Masters of Arts Program in Health and Human Services Administration. He has worked in clinics, hospitals, and long-term care, in Minnesota and Washington, and for three years on the island of Madagascar as a medical missionary with the American Lutheran Church. He has published numerous articles for health care journals, and is a past member of the American College of Health Care Administrators. While in St. Paul, Minnesota, he became consecrated as a Diakonal Minister in Health and Human Services with the United Church of Christ. Jerry and his wife, Chris, have two grown children and two grandchildren. His interests also include music, bicycling, and golf.

Mark Stephens, BSBA – Vice President of Administration, CFO

Mark received his BSBA degree in Finance from the University of Louisville in 1987 and has been with Wesley Manor for 14 years as Chief Financial Officer, following a career in banking. He received his Non-Profit Management Certification from Bellarmine University.

Mark oversees the general business operations of the facility, is responsible for the physical plant, the Village at Wesley Manor and works closely with the Board of Directors and banks in reporting and documenting all financial matters.

Deanna Young, RN, BSN, CDONA/LTC – Vice President of Nursing & Client Services

Deanna was graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and later received her credentials as a Certified Director of Nursing Administration in long term care (RN, BSN, CDONA/LTC).

Deanna serves as Director of Nursing & Client Services in Hoskinson House Assisted Living Center, Memory Care Center and the Health Care Center. Her responsibilities include oversight of all operations and activities in that area. She plays a key role in all admissions, transfers, and discharges, and participates in all family care plan meetings, quality assurance. Deanna co-facilitates Wesley Manor’s Alzheimer’s Support Group, is actively involved in community education/outreach and is on the Speakers Bureau for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Anita Kuvin, BA, CMP - Vice President, Development
Anita received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing and Merchandising from Florida State University, and is one of only 700 Certified Marketing Professionals (CMP’s) in long term care in the country. She has received five National Mature Media Marketing Awards for her fundraising appeals, copy writing and brochure design.


Anita is responsible for all fundraising efforts including donor partnerships, design and creation of fundraising materials and appeals, identifying grant opportunities and coordination of several annual Wesley Manor fundraising events.  She also oversees mission-related advancement opportunities between Wesley Manor and KY United Methodist churches and local churches of other denominations.  Anita is the prime liaison  for community outreach projects and many volunteer efforts with church and community groups.

Trina Thompson, MSSW – Director of Social Services

Trina joined Wesley Manor in 2012. She received her Bachelors Degree from Kentucky State University and her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville’s Kent School. Trina has worked in long term care settings since 2006 and has also served as a Group Therapist for Domestic Violence, Drug and Alcohol Abuse since 1998. Trina was Mrs. Kentucky 2002. Her hobbies are body building and wrestling.

Katie Junk, CSW - Social Worker
Katie earned her Master of Science of Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Louisville in May 2011. Joining the Wesley Manor team that same year, Katie is thrilled to combine her passion for caring with her love for seniors. She recently passed her certification exam to receive her Certified Social Worker (CSW) license in the state of Kentucky. Katie works closely with the Director of Social Services and the Client Services & Admissions Coordinator to ensure the highest possible quality of life for Wesley Manor’s residents and clients.

Rev. Rebecca Church, BA, MDIV - Director of Pastoral Services

Rebecca has been Chaplain at Wesley Manor since 1996. She is an ordained Baptist minister with a BA from the University of Louisville and Master of Divinity Degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Louisville’s Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She was clinically trained at Duke University Medical Center and has many years of pastoral experience. Rebecca has served as a Chaplain to the Federal Prison System.

In addition to Rebecca’s duties as Wesley Manors Chaplain, she is also active in community outreach. She facilitates a monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group, offers religious programming for clients and residents of Wesley Manor and is always looking for new means to better the quality of life for those who call Wesley Manor “home”.

Nancy Sattenberg, RD, LD - Food Services Director
Nancy Canseco-Sattenberg, RD, LD, joined Wesley Manor as Food Services Dir. in the summer of 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, and has years of dedicated service and experience as both a Director of Nutrition and Food Services and Clinical Dietitian. A Registered Dietitian for more than 15 years, Nancy is a distinguished member of the American Dietetic Association. She is a Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist in New York, and a Licensed Dietitian in both PA and KY. Nancy has studied at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, California, and is an accomplished pastry chef.

Carol Ray - Executive Assistant/Human Resources
Carol came to Wesley Manor in 1978 as Secretary to the Administrator, but her duties have been expanded to include Human Resources support as well. She receives employment applications and maintains all employee personnel and volunteer records, such as continuing education hours and insurance, evaluations, etc., in addition to resident files.

In addition, Carol is Secretary to Pres. Jerry Hoganson and Wesley Manor’s Board of Directors, and also our committees for Quality Assurance, Ethics, Administrative Staff, Personnel and Resident Care. She can be reached at 502-969-3277.

Angela Satterly, CNA - Client Services & Admissions Coordinator

Angela joined Wesley Manor in 2008 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (“CNA”) in our Health Care Center and was promoted to Assisted Living and Memory Care Centers’ Client Services Coordinator in 2009.  In 2011 Angie accepted responsibility for providing admissions services in our Health Care Center, Memory Care Center and Assisted Living Center. Prior to becoming a CNA, Angela was a real estate paralegal who worked as a closer and post-closing manager.  A Louisville native, Angela changed her career direction because of her love for seniors.  She enjoys learning their life stories and truly values their wisdom and experience.

Norma Henderson - Patio Home & Marketing Coordinator

Norma received statewide recognition as “2011 Outstanding Housing Services Manager” from the Kentucky Association of Homes & Services for the Aging” (“KAHSA”).  She is very capable and is 100% dedicated to serving Wesley Manor and our patio home residents, both as an employee and as a gardening volunteer with her husband, Bill. 


Norma joined Wesley Manor in 2001 as Marketing Assistant, bringing broad experience in a wide variety of administrative leadership roles. She held this position until March 2003 when she was promoted to her current dual role as Marketing and Patio Home Coordinator. In this position, Norma assists in patio home advertising plans, community events and public relations efforts. She also coordinates all patio home tours, placements and resident relations for Wesley Manor’s independent senior living community in the Village at Wesley Manor.

Candace Blinn - Development Assistant

Candi joined Wesley Manor’s Development Dept. in Dec. 2011, bringing an upbeat personality and strong work ethic to her position.  She manages donor records, and coordinates correspondence, event management and some special projects for Wesley Manor. Most recently, Candi owned an interior design business but her love for seniors was nurtured by her earlier background in the long-term care industry.  She served both as Admissions Dir. and Assis. Admin. in two large retirement communities in Cincinnati and is also experienced in human relations and church administration.  Candi is active in Southeast Christian Church, Community Bible Study and is a volunteer at Ronald McDonald House.  Her favorite hobby is gardening.

Kathy Thevenot, A.D.C. - Activities Director

After 17 years at Suburban Hospital, Kathy came to Wesley Manor in 2009 as an Act. Assis. She was promoted to Dir. of Activities in 2011, after finishing the Activity Professionals State Training and Certification Course. Kathy now coordinates the work of Activities Assistants, as well as volunteer efforts of all kinds. She completes an initial assessment and develops an individualized care plan for each resident – then she plans general exercise programs, creative arts, music, education and entertainment for residents in several areas, based on residents’ overall needs and preferences. In her free time, Kathy leads the Children’s Ministry and serves as pianist for her church and she enjoys bicycling and running.
